HELP - Can anyone tell me how to downgrade?

BT cuts off my second line by mistake, Plusnet is forced to remove the service. Neither company communicates what it is doing so it has forced me to consider my requirements.

No point paying an extra £11 a month for a second line and I am not paying £47 to install my account on my main line.

So I am off to pastures new, more BT's fault than Plusnet but I am not prepared to pay when BT makes a mistake. I have changed my Telephone provider too as BT was so defensive rather than trying to solve the problem.

So I do not need a mac code just to end the service because they are still taking the direct debit despite having cut off the service.

I have been told that I would be better off downgrading the line to a free dial up account. Can anyone tell me how to do that because I can't find it anywhere.

I saw this link about cancelling but even it refers to a page full of options.

I would raise a ticket but can I be assured of a prompt response?

HELP - Can anyone tell me how to downgrade?

Please! Can't anyone help me?

I have raised a ticket but no reply.

How you do you downgrade to Dial UP, I have looked at the help assistant but it just offers the ability to switch to another broadband product.

Your help would be appreciated.

I believe that when you cancel you account you will automatically be downgraded to payg dialup. Again I believe that you have to use it at least once every 3 months to keep it active.

If you downgrade you account you may be charged a fee.

Thanks for the reply, nothing on there said anything about DOWNgrading.

I tried the upgrade link and it took me to alternate BROADBAND products.

Perhaps PC is right, but I thought I saw a post on here that said you had to downgrade rather than cancel to keep email etc.

Normally when you migrate out you're downgraded to a PAYG dial up account, not so sure about if you're ceasing your ADSL all together though...
