HELP 127kbps on max

Recently been moved from LLU to BTMAX

After 10days I was sync at 1600 with speed tests of 950 to 1100, which I was happy with.

Today my sync has droped to 1200, but every speed test shows 127kbps.

I have raised a ticket but with a response time of at least 18hours I thought I would ask if there is a known problem which makes it go that low

I am plugged into the main socket, all filters Ok etc

Using a lynksys wg54gs, so cannot get noise ratios etc

HELP 127kbps on max

It looks like you must have dropped sync and resyncd at a lower speed.. with problems starting around the 13th..

Have you checked to make sure your extension wiring is top notch? In cases like this, I have often found it to be a few weeks before BT put your speed back up (and not always the 3 days quoted) Sad

So that we can investigate this for you, could you run our automated Broadband Fault Checker at http://faults.plus.net ?

this is odd because i'm LLU'd and i've been getting similar speeds even though i am synced at 4mb. Check out the latency on these too:

Pinging www.theregister.com [72.3.246.59] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 72.3.246.59: bytes=32 time=155ms TTL=46

It took about 30-40 seconds just to open this page so i could write this message!!!

Can you run this test and note specifically at the end what the "IP Profile" rate is?

HELP 127kbps on max

After following loads of these type of conversations, I thought I should comment on my own experience.
I have the same exact problem as you, even down to the IP profile of 152K! How can this be a fault with BT, modems, routers, cabling, etc. and yet be happening to various Plus Net customers. I have BT coming to check my line this afternoon (as advised by Plus Net) but feel the problem lies with Plus Net, who have not responded to my outstanding call ID: 20251923. Is this problem occuring for other ISP's?

demster; would be interested to know what BT say when they visit today, if you would be so kind as to post the response, it could be helpful for us in this position.

HELP 127kbps on max

I have exactly the same problem: IP profile 152. It happened two days ago and I went down to syncing at 160. But after this mornings reboot I am syncing at 3744/448 although my speed will be around 130.

I am expecting a BT engineer will be sent by PN next week so on Monday I have to reorganise my house so I plug the router directly into the master socket. This must be done.

I have only had BB two months and they put me straight onto MAX.

BT may have imposed 152 to stop the hundreds of errored seconds I was getting and the disconnections became quite frequent after PN's woes a week last Tuesday. But I am told the return of my sync may sort things eventually.
