Good News/Bad News

Exchange Service Checker says Max DSL has now been completed on my local exchange. Whoopee.

The bad news is that the report says
>Our test also indicates that your line should be able to support a potential ADSL Max broadband line rate of 4.5Mbps or greater.<
When I queried this with BT their answer was this figure of 4.5 is the max anyone will be able to receive from this exchange.

Should I burst into tears and throw a tantrum or has this problem been reported on other exchanges ?

Alot of ppl cant even get this so Id be greatful.

I can receive upto 6.5mbps (perhaps higher after the trial) butt hats because Im close to the exchange,

4.5mbps isnt that bad, after all its free.

What is your exchange reference/location?

Good News/Bad News

My exchange is Poulton le Fylde
Its about 5 mins walk from the house and is well within the 2kms cable run.
Local junction boxes have fairly recently been modernised and made waterproof
and the phone cable to my house has also been renewed, since we had problems with dialup due to wet rusty connections!

I've had a mail from one guy to say his Exchange Service Checker reported a potential line rate of 4.0Mbps but he's closer to 6 at present. So heres hoping.
