Free speed upgrade

Hi,

I finally got my 2meg free upgrade last night which was due April 05 by BT. Cheesy Thanks Plusnet Cheesy
I would like to thank the helpful guy in CS, who when I called, lifted the speed restriction on my account accordingly. Smiley
BT had not yet advised plus that my line was being done.

I have a question though regarding MTU and RWIN settings.
When I was on my 512k line I messed about with them and found that the best setting for me was leaving them at default.
Can someone point me to a thread or advise me the settings to try for a 2meg connection

Many thanks

Julie,

Kitz has some information here:
http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/tweak2.htm

Personally I found that it didn't make much difference so I've just stuck with my 512k sttings.

Yep, the schedule is the same for all ISP's.

John, hmm crystal ball says next month, not sure though what BT will say Smiley

Mine was only a month late - listed for May, happened in June.

If the physical state of my exchange is typical of others, I think it all depends on whether or not the BT engineer who visits is scared of rats and spiders. Wink

John with Bt you never can tell a friend of mine on same exchange (different DSLAM) got his 2 weeks ago his was due July

Prediction...well I haven't got a crystal ball...and I have been hunting everywhere for BT engineers to chat up with no luck I am afraid  but I would say in the next couple of weeks...don't hold me to that though Wink :

I hope it will be very soon Cheesy

Free speed upgrade

Well, here we are in September and no sign of a speed upgrade on my line.
How will I know if BT have tried to upgrade my line and rejected it?
From what I can gather lots of people on here seem to have had speed regrades without receiving any communication from Plusnet to say that their line was about to be regraded. I wonder how many have been rejected by BT, but haven't been informed?

What concerns me slightly is that I used the BT checker for my line:
http://www.adslchecker.bt.com/pls/adsl/adslchecker.welcome
and it says that my line can only support 512k or 256k. Is this because I already have ADSL at 512k and so it thinks this is the max I can have?

My router stats are as follows:
Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin 30.4 29.0 dB
Line Attenuation 42.0 31.5 dB
Errored Seconds 2 3
Loss of Signal 0 0
Loss of Frame 0 0
CRC Errors 2 6
Data Rate 576 288 kbps
Latency FAST FAST

I would have thought that I would be pretty much guaranteed 1Mb and possibly 2Mb depending on how the line measured on the day of the upgrade.

Oh Well, the waiting continues!
