I've just come across this interesting whitepaper - seems very relevant to the present problems - is it an already well-known technique?

Hi,

I think it's known about, there's some info on Wikipedia here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greylisting

and a list of users on the greylisting site here:

http://www.greylisting.org/users.shtml

Doesn't seem to be well used at the moment and I'm not sure if this is suited on an ISP scale mail platform.

I have had accounts outside plus net for several years and yes including my PN accounts up to a few weeks ago never had much problem with spam!

The best way now to sought out this problem is to start affresh, whether this is a new username account or a new ISP.
That way you dont have to wade through your spam folder to find out if any mail has been marked incorrectly!

Now i have changed I have the spam filter off on this username as I am still finding it miss-tagging.

I have still one account open on my old username and that is in spam heaven.

No problem, is fine now. Is an easy mistake to make, especially when you're tired.

Thanks for response Dave - the Wikipedia entry seems to highlight more disadvantages than advantages so it's a non-starter.
