FTP service is terrible

I have to upload files all the time for my work and it pains me when clints say they can't download them (the links don't work). Please plusnet sort out your server/ftp problems so this no longer occurs otherwise I will have to move ISP's as you don't offer a service that can cope with mundane tasks as ftp transfers.

any files up'ed to ftp need to be downloaded via http (just checking that you know Tongue )
anless you are giving them your plusnet acount password

i've actuely never had a problem getting files back (via http), only putting them their in the 1st place can be a bit of a pain

have you tried creating a normal lower case directory to put the files in, then just browse to the dir ie. http://www.[username].plus.net/tempdir1

and see if the files are visable?

yes I know how ftp works and http. Upload is fine, I go onto my webspace through a browser and the files are there. I email the direct link to the file so that they can copy and paste it into their browser. Yet you have to keep reloading the link until it eventually works. Sometimes the files are there and sometimes its not.

raise a ticket, as it does sound like a problem with the platform,
the only problem i've ever had with plusnet webspace is sometimes a few gif on a page hosted on +net time out and the page needs to be reloaded or jsut right click in teh image and show

sorry i couldn't be of any help

Hi,

I'm a little puzzled at what's happening (or not happening as the case may be). Am I right in thinking that you're uploading a file via ftp, but that it isn't visible via http (unless you refresh it a few times)?

If so can you try and upload a file and let us know the link and we can try it out.
