Email with OUTLOOK 2003

Hi all I hope someone can help, I am using Outlook 2003 and when I use the laptop in hotels or on the train I cant send any email, I get this message,

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject:
Sent: 15/09/2006 14:30

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

“My email address is in here” on 15/09/2006 14:30
550 relay not permitted

At first McAfee was stopping me sending any but have switched that off.

Anyone know what setting I should have.

Hi there,

Your mail client will no doubt be set to use Plusnets smtp server, relay.plus.net for your outbound mail.

Mail can only be sent via relay.plus.net whilst connected via a Plusnet connection.

If you are using the connection fof another provider, such as in a hotel or train, you will need to set the smtp server to that relevant to the connection.

PlusNet do not offer an authenticated mail service at the minute.

When on the move, you can acces your email via Webmail which should provide the functionality which you need.

That can be accessed via your browser, using any connection.

Hope that helps.

PS. I have removed the accidental duplicate posts. Smiley
