Email relaying problem (Virgin.net)

I have been using my works Plusnet broadband service to access my private emails from Virgin.net and download them into Outlook. However, I have noticed in the last week that when I receive emails to my virgin email address (not plusnet), and attempt to reply to them using Outlook, I now receive a relaying 550 meassage. I was able to reply okay up to a week ago?

Is this Virgin or Plusnet that are causing this new problem? Evil

Have you set your outgoing mail to + net servers? I don't know virgins email policy, but if its the same as +Nets then you need to be using their network / products to send outgoing mail

Best bet is to email virgin support to find out their email policy

If you are connecting via a Plusnet account, you must set your outgoing (smtp) server to relay.plus.net in outlook. Also ensure that smtp authentication is not selected.
