Email not arriving AGAIN

Its happening again not received any email since saturday, i've also got customers who use Plus Net who are telling me the same thing, when can we expect a resolution to this problem.

Hi,

Not seeing any other complaints currently, and the mail queues are about the lowest I've seen them in the last few months.

I'll try refreshing your mailbox component to see if this helps at all.

They haven't got something running that deletes anything marked as [-SPAM-] (or moves it to a different folder) have they?

No i turned that off on the plusnet website because of all the problems it was causing

There have been many reports that emails are still coming through marked as spam after the checking has supposedly been turned off - it doesn't always work (ever? mine needed a prod)

When I disabled my Spam setting on the portal, 2 mins later I got an email saying - 'Congratulations - your new mailbox is ready to use'. However, this was for a test account I created in 2005!

Does anyone know if plusnet block email coming from a domain that has been listed on one of those spam lists or do they just mark it spam?

Hi,

I've just sent you a test message to your PlusNet address which seems to have arrived fine. Is it the PlusNet address or a domain that's having a problem?

There are 2 levels to the spam checker, the first one uses I think spamhaus to block known spammers and the second is the Despam checker that marks the subject line with [-SPAM-].

That might explain it then, so if a domain that has been blacklisted by spamhaus is forwarding mail to my plusnet account, then they wouldn't arrive would they?

It shouldn't block based on a domain but on the IP address of the sender, so unless the sender's had their IP blocked that's not going to be the cause. Spamhaus's site is:
