Email: attachment size limit?

I just tried sending a 2omb file as an attachment in email, and it was returned as undeliverable. Does plus.net have an upper limit on email attachment size, or is the problem at the other end?

I thought I remembered it as 10, but may be wrong.
I know it was asked here in the past couple of weeks and answered, so if you do a search on the forums for email attachment size limit, you should find it.

Email: attachment size limit?

Hi,

The maximum size of mail you can send via our SMTP servers is 100MB. It's possible though that the person you are sending to has a maximum size limit on their mailbox. What did the bounce say?

Does anyone know the if there is a limit on the mailbox size?

I've been looking around but couldn't find anything, so I gave up as my dial-up insists on been very very slower than it should be (very slow, but not very very slow)

Consider using "YouSendIt" instead. Much easier.

Here's the text, with email addresses cleverly obfuscated Smiley

Looks like it's being rejected by Freedom2Surf as being larger than their maximum file size.

Probably best to contact the person you are emailing and see if they know of a maximum file size on email sent to them.

Thanks - I thought that was probably the case, but the person at the other end didn't know what his maximum was.
That 100MB file limit for plus.net does seem pretty generous! Shame we can anly use it with other plus.net customers Smiley
