Dropped connections/sync problems?

I have noticed a number of threads on this topic, but before I go delving deeper (theres a lot of reading!!!) I just wondered if anyone could give me a more 'specific' area to look at.

Currently using a Sagem USB Modem.

I seem to lose connection (could be sync) every-so-often. Now I had noticed it was mainly when using P2P, but this morning its done it just browsing. I ran the DSL test that comes with the modem, and the results log is posted below. When I try to connect again, windoze is showing error 721.

The workaround that I use at the moment is just to turn off my 'puter and restart it (windoze xp). It all then works fine again without me touching any settings.

Any ideas where I should be looking first?

Dropped connections/sync problems?

I had looked through that, and was hoping someone might have been able to decipher the Line test error things first:-

3 - LINE TEST RESULTS :
TEST IS FAILED : CO modem did not respond to OAM cells from RT modem.
Possible causes :
1 - The set of OAM VPI/VCI does not match with the ones at CO side.
2 - OAM LoopBack type is not the proper type.
Remedies :
1 - Check the VPI/VCI and use the correct values.
2 - Check the OAM LoopBack type and use the proper type.

All the abbreviations mean nothing to me, but are the same errors whenever I can't get anything (i'll not say 'lose the connection' because in theory the connection is still active - just can't do owt!) This problem now appears to be occuring more regularly.

Don't have access to other modems etc, but I never had this problem with tiscali broadband (many other problems, but not this one!!)

Dropped connections/sync problems?

problem is those stats don't show the bits we want to see, , the noise levels & attenuation etc.
