Downloading speed

Probably has been said numerous times on here but here I go...

I just started off an Debian ISO which coming in straight from .ie (Heanet?) and basically the speed bounces from 90kb/s to 452kb/s (4.5mb is the highest that PN has set for me). Is it still 'learning'? (Not sure what is the technical term here).

I'm hanging there guys... going outside to wash the car down now Wink

Well I had a download running in the very early hours ( 1AM ish ) and I got 475Kb/s and my SR is 5000kbps.

Id say it may be due to congestion as well as perhaps some training left to do on the line.

Have to wait and see how much 'training' there is to go. I half expected that sergeant from Full Metal Jacket to scream at the router....

No worries. I pretty much downloaded the ISO as a test. I already nabbed CD 1 and net install of Debian at work yesterday (3.5MB/s anyone? Wink.

I sometimes laughed at myself why I don't own any CD-Rs in the office....
