Downgrading from 2mb £39.99 to 2mb £21.99

Is the downgrading not free? Thought I seen a post (can't find it now!!) where Plusnet said downgrading was free. Downgraded (same package I'm on already) but they're charging me £14.99. I quote.."The Regrade fee for this upgrade is £12.76 (£14.99 inc VAT)" I've raised a ticket but not heard since then.

Thanks in advance,

Damien Murray

Yes, it should be free. You need to query this in a ticket.

I am also planning to downgrade from £39.99 to £21.99 but just wondered if this will affect my contract in any way? I am currently on a monthly contract and would like to remain this way.

Also, do I simply downgrade by going through the steps in the account manager?

Cheers,

Chris

Your contract period will not change.

See this thread for details on how to get your free downgrade.

Unfortunately the portal isnt yet configured to allow the free downgrades. You need to request this by following the Account Changes > Downgrade > Free Downgrade path through the link:Contact Us wizard and raise a ticket with Plusnet.

Hello,

I noticed the portal now supports free "upgrade" from payg to plus which is great.

Sorry if this has been asked already but is plus.net emailing every 29.99/39.99 customer advising them of the 21.99 product? If someone is paying 29.99 for 1mb and cannot get 2mb, isnt it a rip off for them to pay £29.99? If someone cant get 2mb, i doubt 4mb would be suitable?

No I didnt actually. I opened the reply page, went away for 10 minutes then came back, replied and you had already posted. Sorry, did it cover what I had explained?

EDIT : Indeed it does. Apologies Peter.

OK, so I've just had my price reduced from £29.99 1Meg premier to the new £21.99 2Meg premier.

I am still at 1Meg though, but am now being billed £21.99. How do I go about getting the line speed increased to 2Meg? WIll this cost me £14.99.

If it does cost me £14.99 to go to 2meg, will it cost me another £14.99 in the Autumn to get 4 or 8 meg.

Who is making up all this up?

Cheers.

You can either sit back and wait for the upgrade to happen Free Of Charge sometime between now and July, or pay the £14.99 fee to upgrade to 2Mb immediately.

And yes, you will have to pay an upgrade fee to get 4/8Mb in the future.

But he is paying for a 2mb service? Shocked

If new customers who sign up get 2mb for £21.99 then he should get same. Or is this another PN shaft jobbie?
