Does anyone use AntiVir's new Premium edition?

I have used AntiVir Classic for some years and it is excellent, but because I want incoming mail checked I recently bought the Premium to try. It scans internal stuff fine as per the Classic but I can't get it to scan mail. Its MailGuard is active and says it's OK, but it shows 'zero' emails scanned permanently and didn't even pick up a test (Eicar) virus I sent myself.

The helpline says:
a) Check whether your mail client is communicating with the mail server via IMAP. This protocol is not currently supported.
b) Check whether your mail client logs onto the server via Kerberos, APOP or RPA. These authentication methods are not currently supported.

I know PlusNet is POP3 as assume a) is OK but have never heard of b).

I wonder if any other PlusNet users have the Premium working successfully.

Thanks,

Barry

AFAIK Plusnet as just using the standard pop authentication and so you should be okay.

We just use standard POP3 authentication so there should be no problems there.

Thanks to all. It seems they're not used so the problem is elsewhere within the AntiVir software.
