Deleting identified SPAM on the server...

Hi,

Is there any way to have mail identified as [-SPAM-] deleted on the server before download? It would be enormously useful, especially as about 90% (no exageration) of my email is spam.

There are just so many times you can enlarge the various peripheral bits of your torso, and only two normal places to wear a fake rolex...

Good idea; but I'd really miss all that mail from all those people in West Africa (and now Russia it seems) who obviously have my financial well-being close to their hearts!

Unfortunately it would diddle PN out of the £2.50's they seem to currently charge for spam-filtering, so I can't see them doing it. On the other hand, it might be worth their while in terms of resource it would release?

PS Only 90%? Lucky you!

I think this would be dangerous, since it might delete e-mail which isn't actually spam. The filters do get it wrong sometimes.

You mean always? I don't remember asking for any of the viagra related emails people seem to think I need. The anti spam solution doesnt work well at the moment, AFAIK they are looking into improvements / alternatives and hopefully like the OP said, a delete on the server option would be good for obvious spam too.

lol, yep, I've never asked for any of the colourful ones I get.

I use spamfighter to deal with my spam, and it's got a nice single delete button.
