Connect Standard - Dial In Congestion Resolved.

It would seem that the recent problems with dial in congestion have been resolved for me at least.

Well done guys.

I now get recons 1st time in abt 8 secs on ISDN after timeout (slow reader) every time.

Thanks for the feedback - Please keep us updated.

The Networks Team have done a fair bit of work in relation to the Unmetered platform. That is contiinuing so I woulden't want to say anything more at this time :roll:

Thanks for the reply.

I can only report on my findings.

Something has changed for the better with regard to dial up connections compared to the last few weeks?

I guess we will both have to watch this space and wait for the reples from the masses.

Again many thanks to the network team for resolving the problem, and I look forward to ASSL in the not too distant future..

Thanks Ian. No worries on the change of subject..

However, I am a little concerned about the automatic discon after 1 hr.

Does this apply only to 'connect lite' users?

Or does it affect connect standard users as well?

Where can I find more info please.

Sorted out the automatic discon information.

I just needed to read the info on the plusnet home pages.

UPDATE. connection still working 100% so far.

I have to agree with Dave on this. I've been connecting well this week. Almost 1st time every dialup. Its good to see PlusNet is showing its users what a 1st class service it can provide.

Glad to hear that it works for you as well.

I've cut my inactive discon to 30 secs (to free up ports for other users) and can recon in abt 8 secs almost every time now, (the wonders of ISDN). (20:00 to 20:30 most evenings sometimes has 2 or 3 goes, but always connects and outside of that time window, no probs at all.

Yep I agree with you, well done Ian and others at +net, long may it last. (Well until Jan when I hope to be ADSL enabled)..

Things were looking up during the few days after the email went out about changes to usage policy - in 1st time. But over the last few days things have just gone back to 'normal'.

I know Monday nights are traditionally busy but this evening (Wed) it took me about 15+ attempts to login to my Lite account :roll:

Just thought I'd feedback by observations...

I re-joined PlusNet a week ago after being on AOL for more years than i care to remember - not had a problem on connect standard as yet - been connected first time everytime, very happy if this is how good dialup is roll on ADSL Smiley

Mine's still ok for connecting. Seems to be a little slower but its ok unless I try using my webcam.

I wish Plusnet would hurry up with their ISDN 128k service.If its ever going to happen.

Glad to hear you are still connecting OK.

Must admit it is 'that time of night'..

Good luck with the 128K, I've been waiting about 2 years now. You can connect at 128K by using 2 x 0845 number, but if +net can do that, why not on connect standard?

Hopefully I will be able to get ADSL early in the new year but I will miss the 3 numbers facility of ISDN.

Now if only I can recon to send this......
