Just got an email telling me this:

Quote
This email is to notify you that you have successfully passed your billing
date therefore peak-time usage management has been removed from your
service.

I dont recall getting an email that tell me that I have gone over any limit.

All my large downloads / p2p are scheduled for off peak 12am - 4pm according to last bit of communication from plusnet i mangaed to find.

Now I see form http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/network/traffic_management.shtml the peak is 8am to midnight, but thats not what the last thing said (http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/network/sustainable_usage_guide.shtml)

Also it says you get speed capped if you go over 20gb peak, but the last thing I read said that it was 30gb a month and you got a warning.

Then theres various things flying round the forum about p2p being part of a seperate allowance.

Can anyone shed any light on just whats going on, and when downloads / p2p should be scehduled for and how much p2p i can use each month? I assumed I could use my 100gb off peak for whatever I wanted?

Why do we have 2 documents to tell us what the rules are?

welcome to the weird wacky world of plusnet allowances. Yes ftp/p2p etc is part of a separate 20gb monthly allowance between 8am and midnight. But you cant as yet see how much of this invisible 20gb youve used in any given month.

You dont *technically*.
The 2006 vision email that started all the 100Gb and level's of service was updated and has been on the front page of the member centre since it was updated so.

The all new info is here:- http://portal.plus.net/support/member_features/vision_update.shtml

So if I use 20+ gig of p2p, my p2p gets throttled?

The http://portal.plus.net/support/broadband/network/traffic_management.shtml page isnt too clear on whether the traffic management hits p2p only or all web activity?

Im not 100% clear either what happens if you go over the 20gb p2p/ftp allowance. Is normal web browsing, downloading, anything other than ftp/p2p affected in any way?
