Both of these apply to your account, as the first one governs what happens with your connection before you reach the SUP level, showing how much peak usage you get before management is applied.

Then the SUP is what kicks in and manages your connection if you continue to download a lot during the peak hours

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the reply.

On the page showing 30GB it says this

Quote
Warning Email
We send you a warning email when your usage reaches 80% of your product's sustainable usage level. This gives you an opportunity to avoid having peak-time restrictions placed on your service.

Yet in practice everyone hitting 10GB will be put on management.

This is conflicting information. The important bit in the quote is this "avoid having peak-time restrictions.....) So why is PN placing restrictions well before the 24GB set on this page.

The reason I am bringing this up is because I was looking at switching to bb+ but I was sure it had a peak limit of 10GB not 3GB which I see on the residential pages now.

I would never use more than 10GB peak and I dont want to move to a product which slows your speed before you even hit 3GB limit.

So according to this page

http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/network/sustainable_usage_guide.shtml

If I switch to bb+ and download 6gb one month and you put me on management you are breaking the terms of that product as detailed on your site.

The warning email mentioned on the SUP pages is a warning that you are about to breach the SUP level and more forceful management will be put into place.

The best thing to do is take both documents and read them as though they're two sections of the same document. The initial one, detailed here is the first part of it and is the most that many customers will ever see.

The second one, detailed here is the SUP and follows on from the first section.

Jon,

This line is confusing

But at the point you send that email your service will already have peak time restrictions applied

Peak-time usage within a billing month Speed of P2P, Usenet, file transfer applications Speed of other Internet activites
Up to 10GB Up to line speed* Up to line speed*
10 - 12.5GB Up to 256Kbps Up to 2Mbps
12.5 - 15GB Up to 128Kbps Up to 1Mbps
15GB+ Blocked Up to 512Kbps

That's talking about further restrictions, as detailed on the SUP pages. As if you breach the SUP more than once then the restrictions don't automatically get lifted the next time you are billed.

Might be an idea to reword it then.
