Yes ... been getting lots ... and judging by your joined date, you're one of the lucky few of us to still be on the @plus.net realm.

Basically, we poor sods were moved over to the old Metronet pipe (because we fit) and I've had loads of PPP dropouts since.

See the ptn-ag1 slow down again thread for more details.

You won't be impressed.

If you are on the @plus.net realm please post your experiences on the 'ptn-ag1 slow down again' thread highlighted by rixon. You never know, we might eventually be able to convince Plusnet that there is a problem with this gateway/pipe.

I think this has been raised before ... about a year or so back (when I last looked at these forums).

If you want to leave, you can't come back for at least a month. (unless they've changed that part of the T&C's in my absence ... I hadn't been informed about anything to do with capping since it was ditched as the ill fated AUP last Feb).

In the past I have had good service. but it gets to the point when I have lost all faith in my conection.
My down load limits will soon be changeing or not changing oerr what ever ?. Due to some projects I will be starting soon.
The thought of the new down load limits is just to much complication for a numpty like me, I cant buy that much vallium in one go.

So I'M off to a simple set up with a 20GB cap and the ability to buy more bandwidth if needed with no fuss or valium. So ill give zen a try out and see.
Thanks to the peolple who have helped me on the forums over the last 4 years or so.
All the best and may your limits never bite you Tongue

Definitely a problem with your equipment, or BT's ... that's what PN told me too ... do go out a buy some expensive, unnecessary equipment to prove that it isn't !

(In case my sarcasm wasn't clear ... DON'T DO ANYTHING TIL PN SORT THIS PIPE !)

Re: Conection drops

Hi,

These two lines in your logs are concerning me

Quote
Fri, 2006-03-17 23:42:28 - UDP Packet - Source:195.20.109.87,27015 Destination:212.159.68.143,27005 - [DOS]

It looks like your router is picking up your gaming as a DOS attack, then trying email you about the DOS attack and failing.

I presume from the ports you are playing Half Life? If so I'd recommend setting up port forwarding rules for that game to forward the ports correctly to your PC and also check the configuration of the email sending options in router config page as it looks like something is set incorrectly. Might also be worth disabling the DOS protection as a test to see if that makes a difference.

(sorry i seem to have made a bobo so I pasted in this log from today/sun/19 )

The dos part is not a concern as it was not the issue, I have had many disconects with out any mention of dos, but my other logs were lost so I used that one.
My conection seems ok at the moment, (stable and no problems) but later on tonight it will again get choppy and has been reported last night (no action was taken )

I have just played an hour of dod and no problems exept for high ping that got me kicked from the server, I am convinced its not my router or any thing but the fact I have an unstable conection. its just getting to much hard work atm and maybe I need to try a new isp (in the process)
Thanks again for you help

Conection drops

I have had about 10-12 hours connection in the last 4 weeks! and a ticket as long as your arm or should that be leg! it has droped out 3 time whilst trying to contact plus net and leave (make that 4 time) this message. thay took my money (5 times) for another month during this period and say bt dont refund them so thay will NOT refund me, i have been told by ofcom to get "details of your provider's ADR scheme" which i am waiting for. Don't hold (6 times) your breath.........

I have had 6 disconections in the last 20 mins for a reply that should have taken me 3 mins at the most, good luck all wayne........
