Can't always connect - please help

Hi,

It looks like I've been upgraded from 2mb to 8mb broadband, but the service is terrible. I have one Pc and a USB voyager modem. Prior to the upgrade the service was fine and I was pretty happy. But now, I just have problems...

1. I can't always connect
2. If I do connect, then after 3-4 minutes the service will drop and I have to try to re-connect again, which normally fails
3. During connection, 'verify username and password' can take an age and mostly fails with a time out error.

I have tried.

1. Installing the modem drivers again
2. Giving the PC a thorough 'Spyware' clean - and it is clean
3. Using all the telephone sockets including the master
4. Replaced the microfilter

Any ideas on what else I can do....

Can't always connect - please help

Hi,

Wait.

It's par for the course for Max to behave like that.Mine did it at the weekend when they converted me by mistake.Absolute nightmare and nothing you can do about it.

Fortunately for me I'm now back on a rock steady 2 meg.

Wonderful thing technology.

Well I'd rather be back on 2mb - it did enough for me when I wanted it - but now I am rather angry about the whole situation..

It's suprissing how much you come to depend on BB Shockedops:

Can't always connect - please help

Just hoping it will be worth it when it's all settled down! My 2MB connection was rock solid and almost full speed most of the time. Since Friday, the speeds have been all over the place and rarely near 2MBs when I've tested them.
