CGI - php- MySql

Hi
Trying to play with CGI-PHP-MySql
I have activated MySql and CGI
I recieved an email with MySql details
Have heard nothing from CGI, But I can transfer files to my cgi space (chmod 755)

However all I get is internal server errors.
(I have used your sample php script with my details.)

What have I done wrong?

Cheers Gary

Hi,

We do not officially support PHP but we can of course still have a look into your issue.

Firstly, apologies that you did not receive your CGI activation mail. The account is fully enabled but we did not communicate that effectively so sorry from CS.

I have put a php script on your account and set permissions to 755. I have named it test.php and it functions correctly. You can use this for reference to analyse where the problem lies.

I hope this helps.

Regards, Techsupport.

Thanks
I edited my original file and put a space after
#!/usr/local/bin/php3
then it worked!

I noticed your file had "strange" characters instead of spaces(carrige returns?). What/how?
I am editing with Notepad.

Hi,

This file is created in the pico text editor within an ssh shell connected to criticalmass. I'm uncertain how notepad will interpret these characters.

RE: CGI - php- MySql

Changing the subject slightly, but still looking for an answer, I'm continuing to get strange characters when I read my portal problem page. The character & reads &amp and the character " reads "quot. Keyboard and default font etc. etc. all checked. Anyone any ideas?

Actually,

Remembering your posts from a couple days back, you do know you can get a Lite account on a month-by-month basis, don't you?

If you want more info, just ask.

Mike
