Bounced+Lost emails questions

Like so many I have had to endure the pathetic service of PlusNet in regards email during this latest fiasco.
I sent a test email from yahoo to my PlusNet account this morning. Opening my email program at about 14.22 today it arrived, but not any of the other emails that come to me daily.
How do I find out (if it is at all possible) who has sent emails to me during this outage that have been bounced back? One friend even phoned me to say that emails are being bounced.
Those emails that I receive on a daily basis, but have not arrived during the outage, are they lost for ever?

Exactly. I could cope with email being unavailable for a while (tho' nearly 2 days is a tad excessive) - so long as I knew the mail would arrive eventually.

I just managed to sign in succesfully - to find just 2 emails (both spam!) waiting for me. So where's the rest of it? Who knows whats disappeared into the ether?

The status updates don't even mention this issue....

Boring Xmas

I registered Joint Operations with Novalogic and cant get the email to activate my account, probably bounced back and it wont let me re-register cos my serial has now been used.....Hmmmmph
I Was looking forward to a good few online games over the hols, but have no chance of sorting this now till Novalogic go back to work .

it would be nice if there were a way to get some sort of indication as to whether or not we have missed emails over this time, as i am awaiting job offers by email.

bouncing e-mails

Hi,

I've sent a number of test e-mails to my plus.net account yesterday and today - all have bounced back almost immediately.

There is nothing on the status page yet, suggesting either plus.net haven't cottened on or they're refusing to admit the problem.

I raised a ticket on this yesterday but still no reply.

Anything bounced will probably be lost for good.

Bounced+Lost emails questions

Hi,

Do you have a copy of the bounceback messages, I've seen a couple of examples and raised this on to the network team to investigate further.

I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

If you want all the header information please let me know an e-mail address I can send it to.

Cheers.

I've just tested my account from a demon account and it all seems fine, so the problem does not affect all users (if that helps).

BTW headers show the path as follows;
