If this is the case then it's pretty poor. This should be part of basic monitoring procedures.

True, depends on what the cause is i guess. Not rotating log files is one thing, things core dumping left-right-and-centre is another. If its /tmp thats run out, who knows what the cause could be. But if its /var/db then i guess a bit more planning might have been in order Wink
