Banned from uploading through Plus net?

Good evening

An unusual problem
Am I [as a Specific User] banned from uploading during peak hours?.
I ask the question because if I leave uTorrent running trying to download (forgetting to schedule or shut the program down) during the peak hours or when the Plus Net servers are busy outside the peak, http stops working.
When I close off uTorrent http works again.

A further prompt in the direction of Plus Net banning my uploading through their servers is that an independant speedtest shows an upload speed. Plus Nets' own Speedtest does the download then fails when the upload is supposed to run.

I have only found the failure of the Plus Net speedtest this evening as I try to figure out the loss of http problems.

Any ideas anyone?
Edit
The download speed of a very well seeded torrent is pitiful - but thats due to uploads being banned; if the program cannot ask for bits then none can be sent.
As an aside a friend downloaded a 350Mb episode at 5pm saturday evening [peak time I suspect] on a different ISP in 36 minutes - thats quicker than you can watch it!!!! end edit

regards
Andrew

Banned from uploading through Plus net?

Hi,

I'm not quite sure I understand what's going on here. We don't block uploads, if we did you'd get no downloads either because there wouldn't be any ack packets.

The speedtest on our portal doesn't run an upload test, it only tests downloads speeds. You can check uploads as well on www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk

I've seen the problem with uTorrent blocking HTTP before, I'm exact sure on why it does it, but will either be because it's using all the available upload bandwidth or because it's making so many outbound connections that either your operating system or router can't open any more connections.

Thank you for the response.

I retract the statement pointing towards the Plus Net servers being at fault unreservedly and apologise for the inference.

I will look at the preferences in uTorrent again.

I, like many others, would like to enjoy the full benefits of the Internet when they would like [for me it is mostly off peak]

In which case PN is not the ISP for you... as they keep demonstrating.

EDIT: Unless of course you don't mind products being changed without any warning... and don't mind random traffic shaping problems etc.
