BT Voyager 240

We have been happily using PlusNet for DSL at our school (my workplace), however we find that the BT Voyager 240 router supplied needs us to access the web interface and click 'Connect' most of the time.

To us, this isn't what a DSL router is meant to do. At home I have a Netgear DG934G and that NEVER asks me to connect manually (my ISP is Force 9) and it does the job effortlessly.

Is this a known bug with BT Voyagers or are we unfortunate?
If anyone has any ideas or tips to try and resolve this issue please reply.

Thanking you in advance.

Are you saying that your router seems to disconnect a fair amount of the time? Are you able to try your Netgear Router and see if you can replicate this problem?

There's no specific hardware issue that I am aware of.

Sounds like there could be an Idle Timeout setting somewhere in the Control Panel.

I'm not familiar personally, but can you see anything like this?

If there is a setting there, switch it to off - or '0' and then it should keepalive the connection.
