BT IP Profile stuck on 2Meg

I was recently upgraded from a fixed 1meg to up to 8 meg but all speedtests never go above 1.9megs, even though I sync at 8meg and am very cloe to the exchange. After receiving help on here I ran the BT Speedtest and established that my IP Profile at BT is stuck at 2000. I was advised to raise a ticket.

I did this and they evenually told me that if I diconnected and reconnected several times a day for 3 days I would see an increase.

I have been doing this and so far have seen nothing. Is that really the way to get it to increase? Cant someone just tell BT to up it?

I am just worried I am wasting my time with all these router reboots.

Any thoughts?

where do I find the BRAS profile? someone told me I could access it off the plusnet site, my connection is all over the place, up and down, and stuff, and I want to find out what my profile is, is it possible to access this off the portal? the BT speed tester page don't work for me.

You can access it from My Connection on the PlusNet portal - the "high speed broadband" icon or from here https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed

My BRAS is showing up as 8000. It appears that my bottleneck is at the BT end.

Hi,

When was the regrade done? If it's under 14 days then rebooting once a day should cause the backend systems at BT to increase the IP profile. If it's been longer than this then raise a fault via http://faults.plus.net and we should be able to raise this to BT and get them to correct it.

I did raise it via http://faults.plus.net and it was from that I was told to reboot several times a day for 3 days. Then they closed my question Sad

Yeah, if it's over 14 days then re-raise it, note in the comments that you've already done the reboot once a day thing and we can get it raised for you.
