Awful Sync problems today...

Has anyone else had severe problems getting line sync today, I think since 9am this morning, i've had about 2 hours of a solid connection, the rest of the time, my modem just goes into training mode, am I the only one?

Awful Sync problems today...

Pick up your phone and listen, dial a single digit to remove the dial tone ... is it noisey?

If so contact BT and report a 'voice fault'.

If not, any unusal environmental things happened today ... lots of rain? Sad

It's really strange you suggest that, because my line just went off again, unplugged the phone to put in the dialup modem line, sync is back, unplug modem line to plug phone back in, sync is lost...can an actual phone cause loss of line sync, I didn't think this was possible!

did you get your problems sorted in early April? You posted line figures of

Noise Margin - +22.0 dB Up / Between +6.1 & +7.5 dB Down
Attenuation - +31.5dB Up / +62.4dB Down

which are on the limit - esp the downstream attentuation.

Is it raining / windy / stormy with you at the moment? It's been wet and blowy in Suffolk. I woke to 2.5dB downstream - cured by a router adsl line reset, well I say cured... back up to its new maxDSL norm of 6.5.

They're as sorted as PN problems ever get sorted, i've got connection about 90% of the time, lose sync at least once every 2 days for a few hours at a time

Do not get MaxDSl on this line ... Sad

Yes, a phone can have an affect just being plugged in, mine did this until I fitted a filtered faceplate to my master socket.

I've already ticketed PN to opt out of MaxDSL...does this mean i'm automatically moved to LLU?

Awful Sync problems today...

1. Is the phone filtered? (i.e. not using a splitter or plugged in to an unfiltered extension)

2. Is it a cordless phone?

yup...microfiltered as it should be and plugged into the master socket, I get no sync at all if plugged into the main faceplate....it's a corded phone.
