Abolutely Boring But...

I keep hearing (the past two weeks or so) that BT is about to announce (April) the further rollout of (enhanced?) RADSL (for we that live jjjjuuusssttt that little further out of town, namely, for me, Batemoor in Sheffield).
Can we poor semi-rustics expect anything forsooth?
Do you know of any ramblings from the BT behemoth that might intimate a further imminent rollout for the rustic brethren?
I ask, because I keep hearing (mainly half truths and hot air) that this may occur quite soon... And I live in hope...
Tell me something is happening... please!
Regards - Tel

RE: Abolutely Boring But...

Hi,

Thanks for the post. BT have not made any indication for a continuation of roll out, however based on the lauch of ADSL Self Install and also on the recent price cut they may continue roll out where demand is good.

Thanks
Chris

RE: Abolutely Boring But...

The question is 'How does BT know if demand is good?' I know I cannot get ADSL (I looked on the BT site). So I do not pre-order it from PLUSNET. As soon as it is available I would have it, but no one knows I want it, so demand as far as BT is concerned, is not there. Is htis the 'chicken and egg'

RE: Abolutely Boring But...

Hi Kevin,
As far as I know they work thier demand out based on the number of customers connected to the exchange. The types of people who live in that area, the types of phone bills and amount of internet usage people have in that area.

Thanks
Chris

through the post in the coming months or you can complete it on line.
This could influence the ADSL Rollout in your area so make sure you complete it,
For each completed form BT will donate £1 to Childline
