more forum areas?

Hi PlusNet,
Much as I like your forums I do personally feel there is just cause for considering
some improvement.
There is obviously plenty of wonderful areas where PN members can seek tech
help.
In contrast, however, there is only one social chat area (namely Chit Chat)
As I have personally discovered on all too many occasions, everyone has there
only ideas on what constitutes Chit Chat.
For example, I follow many of the political issues of the day, but NOT everyone is
into doing that (and some complain because I do!)
Looking around at other Forums online, they appear to have specific areas for
topics like `Politics` - `Health` -  as against other areas where members who dont
wish to read politics or health or tech issues can merely chill out.
I can understand why, when everything is grouped together into just one Chit Chat
area as to why some members might complain.
I am wondering therefore as to whether PN might please consider the possibility
of adding a few extra forums, like `Issues of the day` - `Health` and then such topics wouldnt
need to be posted in Chit Chat - an area which has obviously over a period of time
been looked upon as an area for `lighter topics` (fun postings etc)
Many obviously want to keep Chit Chat that way, but at the moment there arent any
alternative areas available for other issues.
Please understand, this is just a suggestion.
With so many people using this site then its bound to be obvious that we do often share
different interests /different opinions - and it becomes a matter of considering everyone`s
ideas.
Thanks, and hope everyone has a nice day.

Re: more forum areas?

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately as Pierre has alluded to, we've only recently altered the forum layout and it took us a considerable amount of time to agree on a final layout.
That's certainly not to say that we can't consider your suggestion the next time we feel the urge for a rejig Wink

Thanks Bob  (and Pierre)
The new layout is very nice.
As a relatively new customer, I wasnt aware of how often you change things,
so maybe next time round as you say.
Thanks again.

Re: more forum areas?

We have had some very good discussions on both health and politics over the recent months in chit chat.  Leave things well alone, it's working well.

Well it is, after all, an ISP's forum, where I would expect to find mainly technical topics. Chit Chat is

The place for general chat and off topic banter. Liable to contain atrocious puns.

The wider Internet provides more than enough opportunities to debate 'heavier' topics.
