Re: email notifications

Sorry to drag up an old topic, but I still don't get e-mail notifications, even though I think I have everything set-up correctly.

Re: email notifications

I'm receiving notifications correctly (I received the notification of your post as this is a topic I'm watching) - I do however have the When sending notification of a reply to a topic, send the post in the email (but please don't reply to these emails.) option on - I wonder if that might be the difference?

Re: email notifications

I'll turn that option on, and see whether it helps.

Re: email notifications

Any improvement? (A post just so that there is a response to one of your monitored topics)

Re: email notifications

Thanks for the post. Unfortunately, I didn't get an e-mail telling me about your post, so it still doesn't work.
I've checked, and this is one of the topics that I am monitoring.
Since I seem to be the only person that this is affecting, it's bound to be something stupid that I'm doing, but I can't see what.

Re: email notifications

I'd suspect a problem with the email address you have specified in your profile. You could try sending yourself a test email to check if and where it arrives.

Re: email notifications

I've just checked it again. It's the correct e-mail address, and there aren't any problems with it.

Re: email notifications

I tried changing the e-mail address to something else, and back again, but I still don't get any reminders. I'll try removing all the ticks, and then ticking them again.

Re: email notifications

I suggest you raise a ticket to report it as a fault - perhaps someone from Plusnet will take some interest then!

Re: email notifications

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't realise that problems with the community board was something that I could raise a ticket about.
Just one thought - I didn't put a PlusNet e-mail address into my profile, I put another e-mail address. Could this be the problem?

Re: email notifications

Certainly something to try. If that is the problem create a redirect on your Plusnet account to forward to the other email address and configure the forum to send to the redirect.

Re: email notifications

I'm guessing you don't have access to any logs from your receiving mail server that might help?
As far as I know, the emails should be sent through our main relay servers, and that's what happened with this.
I've also sent you one manually from my work address just to check that that works (being sent through relay.plus.net).
I have to say that the best bet would be to raise a ticket so it can be escalated for investigation.

Re: email notifications

Thanks Colin.
I was looking for this thread just now but couldn't find it!  Huh
We will need tickets to be raised so that we can subsequently pass them on to Networks.  If there are proven examples of this not working, we'll get a problem raised.

Re: email notifications

I presume someone is monitoring any bounces resulting from emails sent by these forums!

Re: email notifications

I received your e-mail OK, and can get my mail server logs if you need them.
I will raise a ticket now.
