change over time on " current forum time" BST/GMT

Apparently, this bug has been around for a long time, and yet still has not been fixed..... it is causing a lot of concern and is mentioned in the chit chat forum.....
A post was put on there to remind everyone about the change of time to BST .....
When new posts are posted..... the time shown is now 1hour behind the current U.K. time.... i.e British Summer Time.
It appears that to adjust to show the correct time, EVERY forum member has to edit his profile to correct for BST / GMT.... yet this is given as an "option" to show the time of your post as + or -    "the current forum time"  which DOES NOT CHANGE with BST/GMT....

It has been reported that "the current forum time" is controlled by SMF and that "even the old forum times never changed"....
Isn`t it about time (no pun intended) that this BUG was FIXED permanently?

Hmm, there does appear to be a collection of problems resorting to the change over on the Community Site Sad

Re: change over time on " current forum time" BST/GMT

Well I haven't touched anything on my profile and everything looks correct. The time offset is set as zero.
Edit: It says this post was made at 16:23:09 which is correct.

And the reason being  "the current forum time" has been adjusted............. So all those forum members who altered their settings have to go back and do it again !  Cheesy

Re: change over time on " current forum time" BST/GMT

I changed the time offset in the Admin area to 0 then went to look to see if there was anything else misbehaving. I've found something else that's misbehaving so was looking at the code for that.
If you've already changed your time offset, you'll need to adjust it back again.

Re: change over time on " current forum time" BST/GMT

I knew someone would get it sorted...... will it be "automatic" when we change back to GMT..... or will we have to remind you there is a BUG again?  Roll_eyes

It may be automatic, it may not be. I'll try and remember at the time so I'm awake when it happens next time though Smiley

Re: change over time on " current forum time" BST/GMT

Just so long as it`s working by 0800 GMT on the first day of GMT will suit most people I think..... no need to lose sleep over it..... just make sure the alarm clock is changed over, and set, so you can get to work on (correct) time Cheesy Grin Cheesy

Re: change over time on " current forum time" BST/GMT

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but viewing the main page of the community site, where it says "Recent Comments" (some way down the right hand side), my comment on Dave's streaming blog suggests it was made at 11.12, whereas it was actually made at 12.12. I've checked my time settings in my profile, and the local time is correct, with my time offset = 0.
Bug or by design? Is there a clock wrong somewhere?!

Re: change over time on " current forum time" BST/GMT

its the difference between UST, GMT, BST;  BST is one hour different to the previous two on another forum, I have to set mine as GMT+1 during the summer, cant remember what I have on this
