Re: What happened earlier.....?

I've never bothered about marking unread topics/posts as read, plus as I sign out most of the time (personal preference), I've just checked and it's the same as Mook here.

Now here's one, which could be a coincidence. Whilst replying here, right now, I opened up a new tab and went to my About section. Clicking options there too now does zip, zilch, nada Huh

Whereas before it would still allow options to work regardless.

Giving up for a bit me thinks. Let them work their magic....?

For what it's worth the "Thread Options" works as expected. I'm using Firefox Quantum 65.0.1 on OSX Mojave 10.14.3

Yup, works for me, too, but board options and clicking on my av fail, as does any attempt to collapse unwanted sections of the forum - exactly as on Friday.

Re: What happened earlier.....?

It doesn't like FF 65.0.2 on W7 Pro (can't even post a reply) same with IE 11.0.111 but latest Chrome seems fine.

Re: What happened earlier.....?

Can you get me some screenshots please @mnd some commentary about what's happening and what is supposed to happen, please? Lithium can't replicate and now neither can I or Harry.

Huh

But @JonoH  said

*edit* It's not browser specific

But, it now seems there could be a common issue

Firefox 65.0.2 - c/w Ghostery - ABP - NoScript

We're sure the main issue wasn't browser specific on Friday it wasn't working for me on the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, IE, or Edge across mobile and desktop devices. We now know what the cause was.

It's the outliers and the people still having issues that we're looking at trying to find out what the cause of the problem is as we now have no internal way of replicating it.

As of this very moment, going to here https://community.plus.net/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/43253 (our About section)

Then clicking my now pink DS, which normally brings up several options

about me.PNG

does nothing at all!!

This was working all but 5 mins ago !

edit. Read your reply directly above, My issues the other day were using FF, then Edge worked fine (for a bit), then Edge wasn't quite right so moved back to FF. It was certainly better on Edge the other day but when FF started working I didn't go back to Edge to check Sad

A fwiw - These forums are currently going to server-54-239-164-9.lhr50.r.cloudfront.net [54.239.164.9] - before I had any recent issues they were going to aptgm87544.lithium.com [46.19.168.229]

(although I doubt where they are is the issue, I'm just pointing it out)

edit 2.

Hit post, went to my pink ID (upper right), clicked it and the options have returned!! Bizarre!

Re: What happened earlier.....?

@JonoH For me what should happen is when I click the Options as shown in the screen below a dropdown menu should appear with two options:

Mark all Messages as New
Mark all Messages as Read

This may not be the exact wording but it's close IMSMR.

Options Menu

But nothing appears, however, on viewing the console I see this

Console Errors

it may shed some light on what is happening or not as the case may be.

Re: What happened earlier.....?

What a dogs dinner this forum is.

Screwed up again on Pale Moon 28.3.1

From wiki

"Lithium compounds, also known as lithium salts, are primarily used as a psychiatric medication. This includes the treatment of major depressive disorder that does not improve following the use of other antidepressants, and bipolar disorder. In these disorders, it reduces the risk of suicide."

Seems to be ineffective.

My experiences today are variable just like @DS   This morning when others were shouting the odds - I was fine and reasonably fast.  Then around midday it got a bit 'fractious' and inconsistent as others are reporting - much like Friday!

From @DS response above, I wonder if ALL servers in the Farm are at the same issue level, thus generating the apparent inconsistency?

Re: What happened earlier.....?

I'm kinda leaning towards routing issues....... happy to be proven wrong Wink

(still seems odd that some on FF have seen this, yet others (Ade I think) doesn't)

Not signed in and I had this earlier

Tracing route to d14xs8zr41zt1m.cloudfront.net [54.239.164.9]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms dsldevice.lan [172.16.0.1]
2 * * * Request timed out.
3 10 ms 10 ms 9 ms 137.hiper04.sheff.dial.plus.net.uk [195.166.143.137]
4 11 ms 10 ms 10 ms 136.hiper04.sheff.dial.plus.net.uk [195.166.143.136]

Now, Kelly was looking at 141 hiper, though I've not heard anything back yet.

But I also pointed out 137 hiper was hit and miss too.

Ignoring the 2 sentences above, I carried out another tracert (whilst logged in this time) and I it me on a different route!! Huh

Well, that's me done.

Waited a very long time for the recent posts page to load.

When it did, it wasn't 'normal'.

Re: What happened earlier.....?

In a word, folks, despite what Lithium, JonoH and others are saying, the forum is borked, whether at the routing level, or elsewhere. I can still only get it to work on Dolphin browser on my iPad, and that is not acceptable.
