The approval of comments is turned on at the moment, the messaging isn't very clear though. As Jim points out, your comment is there.

I was under the impression that as with some (you only see your comment on your end, until checked) the all can see it
In the instance a slight delay then a F5 refresh does the trick

It is checked, but they all get approved really quickly.  (unless it's spam )

To clarify
Whether or not one is signed / logged in, they must all be checked & approved within 24 hours or sooner

There isn't an SLA on it, but I think they all go into checking (unless you have an administration account)
