Slightly confused.

Not that it really matters these days, but I have a question: If you are logged in and active on the forum, exactly one hour after logging in, you appear not to be, unless you are 'LithiumSR' or 'TimFrater' - why?Huh

Re: Slightly confused.

Hi @jab1

I would suspect that LSR being an automated interface has a behaviour profile which either keeps alive or periodically refreshes its logon.  I also suspect that @Tim_F is also present via a third-party actor.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: Slightly confused.

Sounds reasonable, @Townman , but I (and you) are still logged in and posting, but don't appear in the 'online user' list.

I'll come back with more later, but I  must go out now.

Re: Slightly confused.

If, however, I go out for three hours and don't log into the forums in that period, as soon as I revisit the forum on the laptop, I 'reappear' in the online users list, which makes me suspect, as I have done for a while. that the said list is being 'fiddled' with to make it appear smaller than it truthfully is.

Re: Slightly confused.

Never confuse mischief and intent with incompetence!

My suspicion is that if one (as do I) interacts here with "keep logged on set" that after what would otherwise be the session time out, some bit of the system loses cognisance that you are still logged on.  It has been like this for years now.

Re: Slightly confused.

Yep, I know it has been wonky for ages - I never intentionally log out on the laptop but still I disappear after an hour - and I notice that if you check the 'status' of a known online contributor, their little indicator on their profile is set to 'off' as well.
