Same old uploading problem of posts to Forum.

I create a post, with a photo of less than say 100kb, try to upload, my browser states "uploading", after 5 minutes of waiting for successful upload message, I give up.
I stop the upload, back arrow on my browser to the relevant forum thread, reload page, and there it is, my post uploaded !!
Not for the first time, most times in fact.
It's really annoying.

I also get the same result, if I don't wait 5 minutes, even after just a few seconds, my post has usually been uploaded to the Forum Thread...

So it seems the upload actually happens very quickly, but the reporting back from the Forum is faulty.
This is at any time day or night, such as now, past midnight.

A two word reply to another thread this morning........ uploaded in a second, no notification it had done so 3 minutes later !
(This post appeared less than a second after I uploaded it, a minute or two after the one mentioned, go figure)

I usually only see that if making a post with an attachment.

Re: Same old uploading problem of posts to Forum.

For such posts, with photo's, I've now started opening two tabs on a thread I intend to start or respond too.
The first tab is the post I compose & send, the second tab I reload immediately, and again until I see my post has arrived, reported as such or not in the first tab.
I hope that makes sense !

Re: Same old uploading problem of posts to Forum.

That does make sense - I often have to open a second tab to check.
The other give-away is when the upload traffic stops in the NetWorX monitor.

Re: Same old uploading problem of posts to Forum.

Only quickly read this port this morning.  Are you guys able to replicate it?  I.e. give me the steps so I can raise a nice clear cut case?

Re: Same old uploading problem of posts to Forum.

Again... a modified post ( just a few words extra) still "loading" 3 minutes later, even though it appeared in the thread (another tab to check) immediately !
If I stop and reload the original tab, I quite often lose the post, I've got used to copying the post these days, in case I have to re-submit.

I suggest you can probably do this yourself, from home ?
Post several posts, some containing long text, some containing imageshack links, some with photo attachments of varying sizes, PN must have a test forum somewhere ?
It's not just today, I have this, on several browsers, for quite a while now.
There's a previous thread somewhere.

I've not seen the problem yet.  Am at work.

Re: Same old uploading problem of posts to Forum.

Some posts, instant, some, not so.
Ones with attachments sometimes take a second or two to post, some don't.
I can't pin it down to any specific situation.
As I said, the posts are nearly always posted immediately, it's just the reporting back, and showing the posted post on the Forum that takes ages sometimes, in the original tab.

Re: Same old uploading problem of posts to Forum.

Kelly,
This has been shown so many times in the past and nothing has been done about it.
As a comparison loading an image in the usergroup forums is almost instantaneous - it is only these boards which have a problem

Re: Same old uploading problem of posts to Forum.

Today, Tuesday 22nd January, I have uploaded some posts with attachments, around 3pm, and had no problems with speed of loading, or reporting back, in this thread.

(Yesterday was slow, early hours, as per OP)

Re: Same old uploading problem of posts to Forum.

OK, so the other browser is still saying that it's uploading. Let's try again and flip between the tabs....
