Registration on new community site not working

Hi,
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
I've received an email about the new community site (30/7/2007) and it says to go to http://portal.force9.net/my.html?action=community_site and choose my own unique username/password.
The link takes me to the force9 portal login screen which I duly login using my existing credentials.  I need to do this to see the Registration screen...
The registration screen asks for a new username and password.  I enter a NEW username and select an >8 char password and it then comes back with:
Sorry, your account registration failed - Email Address In Use
How can this be true, I've not provided an email and it hasn't asked me for one.
I am using the latest version of FireFox.

You appear to be already registered Smiley
We didn't remove people already  registered from the mailshot.  Our bad!

You seem to be posting as a registered member of the community site so I would fully expect your username to be in use!

I realise this is a VERY OLD thread - but is the interests of not duplicating threads I will add my two penn'orth here and if that doesn't work I'l start a new thread.
The bug highlighted above still seems to be causing difficulties.   Today I tried to create a new registration for my mother and was requested to log in to the PN Member Centre. Having done that I was directed back to the Community site registration page and after entering the required usernake and new password details I got the error :-
Sorry, your account registration failed - Email Address In Use
Is there any solution/workaround for this?

Quick question - is the Plusnet account the same as the one you are registered on
Also I have moved this to the correct board since it has been resurrected

Did you log into the member centre with her details?  What's her username?

Hi Kelly - yes I did log in with her credentials - which was the root of the problem.
The error message is NOT an error, simply a statement of fact.  When I created my mothers PN Member Centre ID I used my email address for simplicity.  When I tried to create her Community ID it tried to the email address from the Member Centre ID but of course that one is already in use, by me.  All sorted now.
