I didn't know "flaming" was a swear word either - as in RTFM

I think you will find that is Manual that is the offensive word. Mention using a manual to most people and they take offense :).

No, not read. To read anything you have to pick it up. How many people avoid the manual in the first place?

Re: Plusnet - Please overhaul the swear filter?

I find the word [Censored] to be very expressive as the reader can insert their own expletive.
BTW I haven't invoked the swear filter. Smiley

We could have a debate on where that should link to. Wink

I guess the mods could use the edit button to find what underlying text was beneath that post, but it doesn't help the rest of us.

You could on the old PHPBB boards, but on SMF it replaces the word with the link/formatting in the original post.

Re: Plusnet - Please overhaul the swear filter?

I have already made some minor adjustments, but did not want to start a competition to find the words which have now been removed.
Please PM your link:censored word, and I will check that it was considered.

No, sorry SMF does not have the option to switch the word censor off.

Cr.p should be allowed provided that it is not used against any member or PN staff but for example I should be able to say that Gordon Brown talks a load of crap.
