Permission to quote own post rule confusion

I have been informed that to quote my own post is in breach of the rules
However
The rule clearly states
Quote
Posting of Personal Details
Without the express permission of the user these are not to be posted on the forums. This includes the content of pm's (personal forum messages) or emails received from other users, moderators or staff.

Therefore if giving myself express permission to quote my own post as I am the user in such cases is it clearly not against the rules or (is it)
So why have we got a quote button that give the quoted persons forum name & date & not 1 of us has been called into question ?? , unless we breach the immediate preceded post quote rule ??

Re: Permission to quote own post rule confusion

That was in reference to you repeating a quote which included the contents of a PM -  I assumed that you had quoted from your own post as quoting from a PM for a second time having been told it was against the rules was unlikely I thought

Re: Permission to quote own post rule confusion

To which are you exactly referring to
& you have my express permission to quote / repost it
For clarity can I have your express permission to quote that part of the PM

Re: Permission to quote own post rule confusion

Also not forgetting that 1 minute you only refer to me altering the height of the signature, Please see http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,123959.msg1078740.html#msg1078740 to which you clearly made no reference to the text under the signature

Even in replies #45 & #47 of that same thread
You never mentioned anything relating to the text under the signature
It was not until 16:52:48 you 1st mentioned the text under the images in a PM & not on the public forum
As I said what have you got to hide ?Huh

Re: Permission to quote own post rule confusion

Could I suggest that we take this topic off-line and get it resolved as I for one am getting bored with this and similar points of pedantry clogging up the Forums.
TORPC  I can see from many of your posts that you have considerable expertise to offer, but on points of procedure and Rules you only have scope to see things in one dimension.
Please chill a little and reflect on the negativity you are injecting into Forum life.
