New skin bugs and tweaks

Hi Guys,
Just to share with you all the issues we are aware of at the moment from the multiple threads (as some people have not been posting them in one place ).
Anything marked as "Done" has been completed and is on our beta (internal only) site and will be rolled out later today
- Unread posts / replies to your posts page has the first column very cramped. - Done
- report to moderator option and signature not very tidy on posts.  Could be displayed better. - Done
- no easy differentiation between more popular blog posts on front page. - Done
- Link logo back to homepage when in the forums also - Done
- There is no key for the colours used for Users on Line.
- When posting a comment on a news item or blog the returns are taken out
- Put report to moderator and IP below the signature - Done
- On multi-page threads, the pages you are not looking at, are bolder than the page that you are on.
- Noted that the images for merging threads don't appear. (Hit MERGE TOPICS to see what I mean)
- Move the [NEW] image and link to before the thread title - Done
- Link login and register - Done
- Font used for the name etc. of attachments larger than it used to be? - Done
- Look at a link to get back to the portal (in addtiona to logos) - TBC
- Maybe add next and previous buttons into the forum posts - TBC
- Change date format to be better formatted on posts - Done
- Issues with times being strange on latest news posts
- Make font larger in post composition window and make it longer in length - Done
- Latest forum posts ont he front page showing 1 hour out of sync - Done
- Login screen from reset your password is broken (http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,60550.msg492059.html#msg492059)

I was logged in as Colin without realising as i had forgotten to log out after testing a bug. Jonny is not really Colins alter ego

Not a bug, but something I posted over in the wrong thread....
On the old skin, when you are looking at the list of forums - ie not actually in any of them, there was a button at the bottom of the page to mark all of the forums as read - where did that go?

Yeah, that helps James, but Colin has got what I mean, I suppose it depends how you read the forums, I tend to view them a forum at a time, rather than just all the unread posts.

Suggestion can you change the on Line to: and the off Line to: it is very hard to tell wen someone is on Line or off Line.

I'm guessing you are referring to the PM icon
The primary purpose of the icon is to enable a Private Message to be sent. The fact that it also shows whether a person is on-line or not is incidental (but useful).
I can't make out how the icons you have suggest relate to Private Messages.

This is probably outside the scope of bugs and tweaks but it annoys me.
Because of the way the page is setup scrolling down a thread hides the top banner. So when I click on "new" in a thread it usually takes me to the bottom of the page or very close to that. Having read the new posts and wanting to go back to unread posts it either means scrolling back to the top or clicking on "go" at the bottom and then "unread posts".
Would it be possible to add "unread posts" to the bottom listing

The PM Icon also turns red if you chose not to show you are online in your profile.
Gary has used the View Profile Icon in his query which I don't recall changing at all.
But I can see the point as the PM Icon area that does change colour is very small indeed.
I'm currently viewing this on a 50" Plasma screen on my desk...........I'm lying also

I've been thinking of posting about that as well but had held back as it wasn't something that changed with the new skin. There's plenty of room on the same line as Jump To and Go to have Unread Posts and Replies to your Posts links and would considerably improve things for those of us who mainly navigate using Unread Posts.

See what you are saying, will potentially look at doing the above at some point (but no promises )

I've just found this in the RSS feed :-

EDIT : Ah, it's on the Blogs page.  I just assumed all Blog posts would hit the Homepage.  But then, what would the Blogs page be?  Hmmm.... 🙂
