The editor still has unresolved issues, focus is again the main problem and the cursor not always being in the "correct" place Sad

Perhaps I should come back in another three weeks, when more issues are fixed, and when navigation from one topic to the next can be measured on something faster than a sundial !

You could try popping in a little more often Wink

I could, but navigating this forum NOW takes too much effort for passing visits, it's way too slow, still too many annoying bugs, the Linux board is now full of other rubbish, and even browsing recent replies requires too much concentration.

There is also the problem that there are now very few interesting posts worth following, as presumably many of the previous SMF forum regulars are also finding this new forum layout too unintuitive, and finding somewhere else to go that is easier to navigate.

It feels like this forum no longer has the sense of community, and is now more focused on being an unloved support channel where the Plusnet staff spend even less time than before.

Re: New forum - why can't I paste plain text into the "Rich Text" tab ?

Whilst I agree in principle with what you are saying (hence why I thanked the post), it think it's important to distinguish between the issues due to bugs, page loading speed (possibly related to connection speed) and the ability to navigate the forum, all of which are a bit off-topic in this thread and probably best dealt with in the existing threads that address them.
A lot of people have found it "difficult" because it is different from SMF, but the ability to navigate round here was severely hamperd at the outset by the damned Javascript issues caused by the GA code for 11 days just after launch, but a least that is in the past.

Back on topic, there are a number of issues related to this editor implementation and focus seems to be at the centre of them from my perception. The following issues seem to crop up with some browsers, blank lines created at the top of the post when moving between RT,  Preview and back; when returning from Preview - lack of focus can appear to inhibit further typing or editing until focus achieved, this can result in "typing corrections" appearing to give more typos, ie. delete a character and carry on typing doesn't do what you expect and so on.
I'm yet to be convinced that these issues are being pursued vigorously by Lithium and will follow it up after the holiday.

...and to add to that list, the difficulty in getting focus and the cursor not jumping to the top having inserted content using a macro.
