Getting to grips with the new forum.... how about changing the order of posts and replies, so that the original post is number one... and the "most recent" replies are then placed below... with previous posts in historical oder from new to oldest.
at present, it is a "pain" to have to scroll through all the replies to answer the latest comment... when the thread reaches 2 or more pages ( and some reach into the 20 and 30 page register) this can be a real problem.

So, I went to the linky and it says sort by most recent post..... so I saved changes... and then went to another thread, and I still have to scroll through 3 pages to get to the latest (most recent) post ...
Um ...
Erm... maybe it should be changed to "most recent REPLY"

You also have an option to go straight to the first unread post when clicking into a thread/topic.

And where would that option be hiding?

There's a tick box for the option here

Yeah? well that don`t work either..... I have just come back and logged in again. and searched for my thread, and seeing as your response was 58 mins ago... I clicked on it, ( after doing the adjustment to jump to .......) it came up with my original post, and all the replies in time order from oldest first to newest last....
Perhaps you are confusing the terms "post" and "reply"... the "newest post" could .... could.... refer to either ? ? ? but my point is about the order of the replies.... on the old forum the last "reply" was the one you saw when you opened up the "title" of the post from the board listing...

It's a totally [-Censored-] replacement.
The hardware & Linux forums appear to vanished.
If I search for Linux, I get "did you mean Line?"
Total [-Censored-].

Use the Browse Menu to find all the boards easily. The search engine however is not at all good (and I'm being polite).

It's all mixed in with Windows rubbish & stuff about virus checkers.

All historic topics have been migrated but there have been some changes to the board structure. The Mac/Linux and old hardware posts are now under Other > Tech/Help.
If I search for Linux, I get "did you mean Line?"
I get loads of relevant results

But there is no Linux forum.
There are some topics that include Linux in the subject title.
This is not acceptable.

I agree... it was easy to post about any linux subject... now it is a disgrace that it should be "merged" because someone was too lazy to do the job properly,... even some of the well known board titles have been changed to almost unrecognisable forms.... so anyone who doesn`t know the forum, will never know that the old "linux" posts have been merged, and they will try to post in inappropriate boards when the subject may well have been already covered in previous forum boards now lost.

A conscious decision was made to merge the Linux/Mac posts into another forum. Looking at the old site, there have been less than 20 topics started in the Liniux/Mac forum since the start of the year. Those topics can all be attributed to a group of ~10 people.
All feedback welcomed of course, but I can kinda see why the decision was made
