I'm finding the Forums are slow, again.

Might it be that the GMT time that is/was set on each server is slightly different when the files were created?

There is something very odd going on here. Although I'm getting shorter times with AVG disabled, they are still far too long, but the number of requests are different depending on whether a page has been loaded or refreshed. Always more when there's a refresh.
Eg. this thread was 18 requests on load and 66 on a refresh. I'll have to investigate this in more depth when I have more time..

The number of files downloaded is down to two things:
[list type=decimal]

If the images etc are already in your browser cache

Which server you hit for each item and was that the same server as the last time. This is totally random depending on the load balancer and won't be the same for all items on a page reload.

I did say requests, not downloads. Some were 200's, some 304's.
