EOD reports in separate section

I'm all for the End Of Day reports but it makes a mess of the community home page if that is all that is there. It also knocks off some of the other informative blog posts by the comms team and details of issues related to Email for example.
Can you put the EOD in a separate section and not post on the home page please.

How does an EOD areas under /blogs sound?

Re: EOD reports in separate section

That sounds fine, but before you do anything I'd like to see what others feel about it in case it's just me.

Re: EOD reports in separate section

Good idea - perhaps a permanent specific link to the EOD blog somewhere on the font page?

It sounds like a sensible occasion for a poll Smiley

Re: EOD reports in separate section

Yup, I would agree having a specific EOD section would benefit most people - and you can still choose to have specific EOD's displayed on the front page, I'm sure?
As long as they all get fed out via RSS, I'm not that worried Smiley

's funny you should mention that.  We're looking at ways to mix up (interleave) the content on the front-page right now in fact.. Rest assured the Community Site is in a constant state of evolution and yes I agree, we do appear to have taken the frontpage over with the EODs - although that 'was' the intention for the initial period.
So far the thinking is that the EODs will have their own blog section but will also appear on the frontpage, mixed in with other news articles (with weightings assigned to the higher priority articles).
What else would you like to see go on the front page?

Re: EOD reports in separate section

Since their inception, I've been an avid reader of the EOD's and I find them to be very very informative and most interesting. Now whether they should be moved into a section of their own, I can't make my mind up so I'll go with the flow on this one  Smiley

You can tell that this is live development  Wink  Thinking about it, there should be no need to have a separate EOD section because you can filter by the EOD TAG.  So.. all we need to do is introduce more varied content into the front-page as a first step.
And I'm really pleased to hear that you are enjoying the EODs Smiley  Don't worry they're not going to get shuffled off into a dark corner and be forgotten.

Re: EOD reports in separate section

Could you make it so that only one EOD (the latest) appears on the front page?

I like that idea.  Move the older ones into their own section under /blogs

We're not going to create another blog for EODs.. if you want to see the older articles you can use the EOD TAG.  I'm sure we'll get to the point where we only have the current EOD showing on the page.  We need to get more content on their first - it's coming.
We're also looking at a snazzy menuing system for the RHS that will show the latest posts to news / blogs / forums / eod

Re: EOD reports in separate section

I like the pale non-white background to the forum pages - a big improvement!
