Re: Behaviour of "mark as read"

I suspect that Jelv has the option turned on in his profile, and nobody else posting here does.
Go to your profile, and then to the 'look/layout' settings page http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php?action=profile;sa=theme
Then select Show quick-moderation on message index as checkboxes
Then you will see the column of check-boxes, and you'll be able to mark the ones you choose as read. Wink

Works!  Cheesy
And what is this: "Use quick reply on topic display"?

Re: Behaviour of "mark as read"

Fixed - but what does "show quick moderation" mean when you aren't a moderator

Re: Behaviour of "mark as read"

It means show the boxes that allow you to moderate the posts.
Its just that the only moderator actions available to you aren't really moderator actions after all. Wink
Quick reply adds a box at the foot of each topic, so you don't have to open a seperate window to reply to a thread.

That I do. I don't remember setting that option on - it must have been ages ago!

Why don`t you have a " Mark as Read "  box anyway...?  (OR, even change the present label in the look/layout to read what it is supposed to mean.....
As mentioned later on.... Who knows what that moderator gobbledegook means?  If no one know, no one will tick it....

Re: Behaviour of "mark as read"

I didn't know till I saw this post and went to have a look!
It does give mods a lot of other shortcut options, so I can only imagine that its an SMF naming convention thats a little kooky.
Heres the options that mods get:

Remove selected | Lock selected | Sticky selected | Move selected to: | Merge selected | Mark selected read

Its exactly the same on PUG too, and we use the same forum software there.
If Colin didn't know the option was there, then you are right, the rest of us have little hope.... Wink
