Any chance of a delete button

So you can delete your post if it doesn't make sense?

Re: Any chance of a delete button

Use the preview button. It takes the same amount of time, you just need to change the order you do things in.

Re: Any chance of a delete button

Thanks for that geewizz but my suggestion is simply if you do go that extra step, re-read the thread and want to remove your post.

Re: Any chance of a delete button

There did used to be a delete button, but it was removed after misuse.
Just edit your post out and put it didn't make sense.

Alternatively - if you really want it removed - click on the report to mooderator link and request removal.

Re: Any chance of a delete button

and the reply by addiewoo covered that.
It was before your time I think but a user deleted all his posts which really messed up a lot of threads

Re: Any chance of a delete button

Sorry, I should explain that my "OOPS, wrong thread" referred to a reply to another thread I had just typed and sent...but to the wrong thread and there was no way of deleting my comments.
cheers

You can't report your own posts can you?  Or has that changed?

You could change the message to contain some profanities that are sure to get someone else reporting it to the moderators.

Re: Any chance of a delete button

Yes, I remember it being removed.
I can't remember the last time I needed to remove one of my posts, but I guess you can always edit the text to 'removed' .. or something like that. I don't seem to get it on these forums now, but on the old phpBB forums I used to often accidentally make a duplicate post and it was handy to be able to remove the second one.
Thing is though, if someone were to edit all their posts and remove all content, then that would mess up threads as well. Not as much as if the post was removed, but you still wouldn't know what people were replying to.

Re: Any chance of a delete button

At least you would know something had been going on though.  If I remember right, when the incident happened and someone deleted a load of their own posts, it got very confusing as it wasn't obvious that the deleted post ever existed.
