Re: Unlimited/Essentials product launch December 2012

Thanks folks. I've raised a ticket to check about my IP block. I see no reason why it should change but I need to make sure. Hopefully I will be on the new package soon!

For the new Unlimited product, is the 'Usage Breakdown' bar chart still available and working?

Yes it's still there and working.

Re: Unlimited/Essentials product launch December 2012

Am on BBYW/2 at £14.99/pm with 15Gb limit and £1 referrals reduction.
Am in a Market1 area. Sad
Q1 - Is Unlimited worthwhile and is it £16.99?
Q2 - I assume the 12 month reduced price offer doesn't apply to existing customers?
Q3 - Will I continue to receive referral discount?
TIA

Dvorak has pretty much answered all your questions, but not quite.  I am also in a Market 1 area so, yes, 'Unlimited' is £16.99 a month and I am debating whether it is worthwhile.  At first I thought it was but for me it would mean an extra £4 per month as I am currently on Value at £12.99 per month.  Since with a bit of care and overnight downloading I manage to stick within my 10GB allowance I would be paying for the luxury of not having to worry about watching my usage.  But then if I want unlimited broadband I could get it much more cheaply by going with a LLU provider (my 'Market 1' exchange now had two of these) at £6.99 per month with a phone package - which I'd rather not have.  And I have referral discounts so the difference is not quite as bad as the stark £10 per month one sees at first glance but it's still a big difference.

There may also be prioritization and throttling implications to what the user wants as well, so it's not just a pure usage debate.

Re: Unlimited/Essentials product launch December 2012

Any info on upload rates?
Checked the PN web site, this topic and the previous pre-launch topic but cannot find any upload rates quoted for the new Essentials or Unlimited (ADSL) tariffs.
Can anyone confirm what these are please?
I originally signed up for Value - no contract (and therefore no modem).
If I 'upgrade' to Essentials  or Unlimited on a 12 month contract
will I now be offered a modem?
Thanks

Re: Unlimited/Essentials product launch December 2012

Provisioning of both Essentials and Unlimited is generally with capped upload at 448kbps. However on 21CN ADSL2/2+ (and I think ADSL1) upload will be uncapped free of charge if requested giving whatever the line will deliver (up to the maximum of 1Mbps).
On 20CN, Max Premium giving uploads up to 832kbps (and higher network priority) is available but that costs £7.83 per month.
As you haven't had a router in the last 12 months I anticipate a router would be offered if requested on payment of £5.99 P & P and agreeing to stay for 12 months. You could contact the CSC on 0800 432 0200 to check and for them to take the P & P charge.

Re: Unlimited/Essentials product launch December 2012

It would also involve signing up to a 12 month contract.
However another way to look at this is to consider would upgrading to Unlimited for £3.50 more (and 12 month contract) be a better move for you?

Re: Unlimited/Essentials product launch December 2012

Skygo streaming is very good on the plusnet unlimited so far (much better than virgin media crappy 100 Meg is never work well with skygo streaming) as you can see the white bar is full network strength with plusnet while virgin media only manage 1 or 2 bar (never full)
Well done plusnet Smiley
