Re: TBB Ping Graphs

I take it that nobody got a PPP drop with this particular 'blip', I certainly didn't.

Re: TBB Ping Graphs

Yer, the graphing suggests it was just before 20:30.
Again, our network shows/suggests nothing, but per the previously reply about the amount of data these use, it's would be like looking for a needle in a large field of haystacks.
We did some digging anyway and we did make a brief change to the network at around the time of the drops, which was done as part of the network protection work we do during high volume events (specifically at the moment with IOs6, Mac updates, MS Windows & Office updates, football).
This could be one explanation but we do know that no changes were made at 23:30 on Wednesday night though, that would have caused the ones were saw then. We are running with this theory some more though.
You are clearly observant of this which is good, but one of our interests here is, did you experience anything on the service at the time, other than a after the fact graphical observation?
It's something we need to get an answer on, because it isn't expected. But many questions that need answering relate to the impact it has to the customer experience, that we can do further direct measurements on.

Re: TBB Ping Graphs

Can't say I noticed anything, its such a small blip that I doubt anyone would.

Re: TBB Ping Graphs

It's not really small though.
Over a 24 hour period, it isn't much. However, each horizontal pixel represents 100 seconds, 20% loss of 1 packet per second is as it reads on the tin, 20 continuous seconds of problems, or 1 packet in 5 over a period of 100 seconds lost.
Continuous loss if very obvious, however, 1 packet in 5 over the 100 average would also be very noticeable.
In this case, we are taking the report that people don't actually see problems as a good thing, as it could well be that the problem is restricted to a very limited number of sites/destinations.

Extra with 60Gb allowance. Been getting very high amounts of packet loss recently, hopefully this will show it up!

For those that have been added it would be good to get a short sentence about how you use your connection, that will help us pinpoint anything out of the ordinary.

Oops.. not been checking like I used to.  My bad.  Embarrassed
Connection is generally used for streaming in the evening (weekdays and weekends).  Generally, very little daytime usage throughout the week although on occasion one or two days can be spent 'working from home'  Grin (VPN).

Re: TBB Ping Graphs

and again from 6am onwards, still on pcl-ag02
edit: did a reboot and now less loss than there has been.  I've had this before and then it was when my IP profile changed on a reboot, which it did when I rebooted my router earlier.
So any smoke as to the IP profile change and the loss I am seeing at times?
