Re: Peak time latency spikes

@ englishrick - That looks ok so far. How are you finding performance?
@ Bjn - Thanks. I was looking on the BT Infinity forums to see if any other users on your exchange were reporting problems, but couldn't find any.

Re: Peak time latency spikes

@AndyH, I first noticed slow downs last weekend on 9th March 2013, internet browsing is okay but streaming can sometimes stop and start with BBC Iplayer. To confirm I am connected to this exchange:
http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/SDCHCHS
I have this evening run a test with the BT speedtest and while the download speeds appear to be okay the upload speed is the lowest I have ever seen, I am currently connected to gateway: ptn-ag04. My speeds seem to return to normal around 10pm each night and then work fine until around 4pm the next day. All speed tests are being done wired.
BT Speed test results

1. Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
Download Speed
75.66 Mbps

0 Mbps 77.44 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 75.66 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 16 Mbps-77.44 Mbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 77.44 Mbps
2. Upstream Test:  -provides background information.
Upload Speed
2.86 Mbps

0 Mbps 20 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 2.86Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps

@Dave
Thanks for checking my phone line and letting me know that all seems to be ok there, I would be grateful if you could please update me on Monday once you have an update about my local exchange and let me know if there is any issues there or not..
Thanks

Thanks AndyH for your help re exchange.
A strange one tonight is the BT speed check gone wonky, as it's showing downloads speed as normal 51Mbps but up speed dropped from 10Mbps to 3.1Mbps with 117 ping, Speedtest and thinkbroadband both showing  51 down and 10 up with a 32 ping.
Ping speedtest is 0 pscket loss ping 27 and jitter 1ms grade A connection
If BT checker OK then my speed problem has reversed down OK and up dropped dramaticaly.

Re: Peak time latency spikes

Forgot to mention Im on pcl-ag08...Not going to hop cause it will knacker my ping graph thing up.. As I have said all along the BT Guy who fitted the fibre said everything was spot on and perfect for the full speed on my line so something is restricting me..

Re: Peak time latency spikes

It's a little weird as your graph isn't showing any problems - do you have the N66u or N56u?

Re: Peak time latency spikes

Things look reasonably ok here tonight.  Just streamed some iPlayer and the net seems to be ok, although some pages are a little sluggish.
Connected on ptn-ag01

Still seeing quite alot of higher latency peaks on the TBB graph - is this because I'm on a non pcl gateway?

Pings etc. seem fine
