Re: Peak time latency spikes

I am going to be in the office until 9pm tonight so I will taken a much closer look at some of your connections this evening to see if there is anything I can spot Smiley
As Chris says, if you've got a fault raised it will be much easier for me to obtain further diagnostics with our suppliers.
@ricmelia
If you are going to be online tonight, there might be a few little things that I would like you to do if it's not too much trouble?

Re: Peak time latency spikes

OK. That ties well with when I've seen it start to slow down, generally not terrible until about 7.45 though Smiley

Re: Peak time latency spikes

Daytime speedtest
Download speed a little short of what it should be considering my ip profile of 67Mbps upload speed is also slower .

This is what a normal traceroute would be for me .

Ricmelia: can you stay on that gateway until your speed bottom outs.  The get a speedtest and post it here.  Then reboot your modem to gateway hop and do a speedtest again.  I'm half expecting you to see high speeds again after that reboot. Speedtest, post it and let us know what gateway you are on.
If that happens, keep your eye on it and post speed test if you drop again. If you get slow again, reboot and see if it repeats.
I want to prove this 'change gateways and it goes away' theory we've seen. I've definitely seen two customers do this and effectively swap gateways!

Re: Peak time latency spikes

I think I proved it in the other post. I went through about 5 gateways in the same minutes, speeds all over the shop. Latency was ok (ish) never >50ms.

Do i need to restart the router or just press disconnect/reconnect the internet on the "broadband connection" page?

This has been my experience for the most part, Kelly. I start off and things may be reasonable. Then they gradually degrade, so I gateway hop and things are ok again for a while before a repeat of the degradation. I say 'for the most part' because it doesn't always work. Lately, in fact, it hasn't worked much at all and when I jump gateway it can be appallingly bad straight away.
