Free calls to Plusnet support for everybody

[quote=http://community.plus.net/blog/2011/07/29/new-plusnet-tv-ad-to-air-next-week/]As you’ll see below, the ad primarily promotes our award-winning, UK-based, 24/7 customer support which is only going to get better when we switch to using 0800 support numbers next week! (historically we’ve always had 0845 support numbers).
A very welcome move!

Re: New advertising campaign and coming soon - Support calls to 0800 number

Hmm...
I did think there was a point to having a separate post in feedback for anyone (a) to using Unread Posts and (b) not in the habit of looking in the Announcements board!

I didn't because I assumed that a post in announcements would show up in unread posts as your post just did

or Yorkshire?

Both
Dealing with people who live "down t'road  ::)" is far more acceptable than being with a provider where you have to dial someone abroad who couldnt give a flying about your issue..
Strong links with the UK is what is helping many companys thrive - as people are increasingly looking at "protecting" peoples jobs. (Does it give you a warm fuzzy feeling?  ;))

O2 make a big thing of their 'UK based calls centre'. One company which recently closed their call centre in India and moved back to the UK said it was not only more efficient but also cheaper Undecided

Re: New advertising campaign and coming soon - Support calls to 0800 number

Companies have stopped being short sighted - it might be cheaper to "run" the centre, but people are on the phone longer, wasting more agents time and various other variables (such as repeat calls)
O2 use call centres in the UK + sweden if i remember rightly? (this may have changed  Roll_eyes )
Personally, one of the things i hate about people like TalkTalk, is you ring up and you speak to some muppet whos completely clueless about something such as 'Profile' or 'Loss of sync', who palms you off to some other muppet who palms you off on a supervisor to get back to where you started.
Shame the UK is now becoming just a big warehouse and call centre rather than actually "making" anything!

Yep you are right - It was always an 01 number in the early days.
